First Successful Solo Rebuild

»Posted by on Sep 20, 2011 in General | 1 comment

I’m mostly done my first big solo engine project. I bought a 1991 Seadoo which had a lot of question marks on it. I had no idea if it would run again, or if I could figure it out. That was $250 + $60 to get across the bridge. It was partially disasembled which saved a bit of work but created more questions too as to which bolts were for what. Also had many missing bolts after it was all said and done… Ohwell, less weight to slow it down, dead weight right? So I finished taking the engine out and I first disasembled the top end to check the pistons, rings, compression etc. All was good. Then I tried t urning the engine over to see if all was rotating as it should (figured at this point maybe I lucked out and the issue just was bad electrics or...

The day the week went by

Its been a busy week, not just at work but at home to as Lindsey is out and about with church work and such. The days fly by when you work all day, work over the lunch hour, then off and out of the house for the night somewhere. Went by so quick the weekend is already here. Arden is growing up just as quickly and I enjoy being able to see it rather then being out at work all the time. I get to see the small changes and the big changes. Lindsey pulled out the camera again and took some videos. I always think I should take more, but then I think, oh, we’ll do it tomorrow so I’m glad shes on that one! Tonight after our fussy went to bed, I got the ‘new’ Seadoo starter put in engine (and tested this time!). Its a second hand one off ebay....

The Royal Review

Yesterday and today we went on a bit of an adventure. We chased Prince William and Kate around PEI (sorta). See the various photos below, in all just under 600 photos were taken. I still need to thin them out. So Sunday night we went to the airport in Charlottetown to watch them arrive, we got in just the right spot to see them getting off the Canadian military jet (we’re apparently the only country that flies royals with our own military planes).  We also got to stand right on the curb as they were leaving in the motorcade where I got what I think are the best photos of the bunch, the first images through the window of the car as they passed. Those to me are the most spontaneous. Slide Show + -Full Screen We then saw them at Government house.  We were...

North Shore

I went for a drive on saturday (had to take a couple movies back to Hunter River) so I decided to get me a coffee and go for a drive. Here are some pics along the north shore where i stopped, the ‘cliffs of insanity’, PEI style. You can see the lingering ice and snow. It was chilly and windy, but a beautiful site nonetheless. We live in an incredible world, and  Lindsey and I and Arden especially live in a very picturesque province in Canada. We are so blessed to be able to live here and I don’t take that for granted at all. The winter can actually be the best time to see the sites and shores of PEI because there are fewer tourists running around   Slide Show + -Full...
