The day the week went by

»Posted by on Sep 16, 2011 in General | 0 comments

Its been a busy week, not just at work but at home to as Lindsey is out and about with church work and such. The days fly by when you work all day, work over the lunch hour, then off and out of the house for the night somewhere. Went by so quick the weekend is already here. Arden is growing up just as quickly and I enjoy being able to see it rather then being out at work all the time. I get to see the small changes and the big changes. Lindsey pulled out the camera again and took some videos. I always think I should take more, but then I think, oh, we’ll do it tomorrow so I’m glad shes on that one! Tonight after our fussy went to bed, I got the ‘new’ Seadoo starter put in engine (and tested this time!). Its a second hand one off ebay....

The Ultimate Calculator Watch

K, so iPod nano touch screen came out and I thought, huh… ok whats the point of a touchscreen on such a tiny device? It still just basically plays music. BUT, it has an analog clock face app on it. It allows you to listen to the radio, look at your photo album, play your itunes library, watch podcasts etc. Has multiple screens through which you can flick. But the one thing that Apple didn’t think of was to make a watch band for it. Luckily, other companies have seen the future with this unit. It actually becomes quite easily a nice little geeky calculator type watch (granted I don’t know if there is a calc app for it yet… surely there will be if they allow app creation on it) Behold: Now isn’t that the coolest? Touchscreen on your...

New Years 2009 / 2010

Its new years eve and I only have to work a half day. Woohoo! This year Lindsey and I will spend it with Matt, Mom and Dad watching some old home movies, .. and attempting to record some digitally via a new camcorder my dad wants to buy today. Should be interesting to watch all those movies again! Hey, maybe I can get a clip or two on my camera as well. He has old 8mm films and an even older projector that we all hope works somewhat. For cameras, I was suggesting something like the JVC Picsio handheld flash based camera. Pros: generic flash based (SD / SDHC) Handheld (much easier to stick in your pocket and actually USE when you go places HD (1080P) USB (albeit only a mini port.) .MOV file format – easy for iTunes and mom and dads iPod Touches Great price...

The weekend and the week

»Posted by on Jun 19, 2009 in General | 0 comments

Finally I get around to posting. My brain hurts… I actually water-skied, that is awesome! Some pictures from the young adult weekend are on my photo gallery here.  Posted a movie too, um… its steaming on facebook, hey, I’ll post on vimeo. I’ll post the vimeo movie of the weekend, taken with my D90 (of course). It was a great weekend, and yes, I’ve always wanted to waterski / learn how and I finally did it, took about 7 or 8 tries to get up, thats the tricky part. Once you’re up, its really fairly easy. Like riding a bike I guess, once you learn how to stay balanced, its easy every time after that. It was very relaxing, I just walked around and took photos all weekend, did nothing else… other then water ski. It was just a...

My Fickle Mind

»Posted by on Mar 12, 2009 in General | 0 comments

EDIT: I’m gonna add to my pros and cons list some more… there are other features that I don’t have on my A2 I’ve been researching and researching the D90. Its been on my mind for quite awhile. While it is an incredible still photo camera / SLR, i’m having trouble with the lack of some of the features in my A2. AND, my A2 can do most of the things the D90 can. The bigs ones are pulling focus with manual focusing (yes, the A2 can do that) and the shallow depth of field (the A2 has this as well). The Pros: Hey, its a new toy Incredible still photos High def video @ 720P interchangeable lenses Bulb exposure (my A2 only does 30 seconds max which isn’t ideal for really cool star shots) Low light capabilities Flash Range The...
